Marvel finally stopped playing it safe and let two immortal jackasses beat each other up across the multiverse. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall so often it’s basically a demolition permit. Wolverine’s back and angrier than a gym bro who lost his last rep, the man’s whole personality is ‘I hate everyone’ and I respect it. The soundtrack hits so hard my speakers filed for hazard pay, Bye Bye Bye over a highway fight is cinema’s greatest hack. The cameos are pure fan service and I ate every single one like a starving raccoon. It’s unhinged, it’s violent, it’s got more inside jokes than a group chat of comics nerds, and somehow it’s the most fun I’ve had at the movies in years. 9.3 because it’s not a movie, it’s a theme park ride with a body count. The only thing it takes seriously is being unserious.

Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) has hung up the suit and sells used cars until the Time Variance Authority, by way of Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), tells him his universe is dying because its anchor being, Logan, is dead. So Wade goes multiverse shopping for a replacement Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and comes home with the worst one, then both get dumped in the Void with Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) and every Fox Marvel character Disney could find. Two hours eight minutes, one highway, one boy band.
Whoever cleared the music rights. Also Dogpool.
