Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie (2026)

Anyone taller than a kitchen counter will roll their eyes at the dialogue in Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, and the plot is as simple as a coloring book: pups, island, dinosaurs, a volcano, and Mayor Humdinger out of jail and chasing diamonds. It isn’t for you. For its real audience, it’s a bright, busy ride with a good message. Marshall, the clumsy pup who insists rescue pups never make mistakes, keeps making them, and the movie lets him fail and try again in a way little kids can use. The best addition is Rex, a pup who gets around in a wheelchair, talks to dinosaurs and built a giant treehouse, and the film treats him with real respect. A baby T. rex named Rhubarb who wants to play fetch is toy-aisle gold. The volcano finale gets surprisingly intense. It made $159.5 million worldwide on a reported $40M. A 5.2 because the kids are covered and the grown-ups are on their own. $65.89 says your kid asks for a dinosaur that plays fetch within a week of seeing this.

What works: Rex, a pup who uses a wheelchair, is a lovely new character written with real care, and Marshall’s lesson about failing and trying again is a good one for young kids.

What doesn’t: The characters are thin, the dialogue is eye-rolling, and there is very little here to keep older siblings or parents entertained.

Who it’s for: Preschoolers who love the show and the parents brave enough to take them.
