Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026)

The first Ready or Not was one rich family and one game of hide-and-seek. The sequel is a whole council of rich families, a golf course, a ring of unlimited power and something called the High Seat, and somewhere in the upgrade it loses the tight, weird house party that made the original click. The villains are louder but less interesting, a lineup of snobs taking turns. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shawn Hatosy have fun as the Danforth twins, and Elijah Wood is a slick delight as the Lawyer, reading the rules like a terms of service agreement. But Samara Weaving is the engine. Grace is exhausted, furious and still cracking jokes, and handcuffing her to her estranged sister Faith, played with real bite by Kathryn Newton, gives the chaos a heart. It made $43.1 million worldwide on a reported $14M. A 6.4 because Weaving is ferocious and the bigger game feels emptier. $153 says you lose a round of hide-and-seek to a kid this week and demand a rematch immediately.

What works: Samara Weaving is ferocious and funny again, and pairing her with Kathryn Newton as her estranged sister adds real heart.

What doesn’t: Going bigger makes it emptier, with a crowd of rich villains who are louder but far less interesting than the original’s single family.

Who it’s for: Grown-ups who loved the original and want more Grace, more chaos and a bigger playing field.
