The Bad Guys 2 (2025)

The best joke in this sequel is that the Bad Guys are terrible at being good guys. Wolf, Snake, Shark, Piranha and Tarantula are out of prison and getting turned down for every job, so Wolf helps Commissioner Misty Luggins hunt a new thief nicknamed the Phantom Bandit. Next thing they know, they’re framed at a lucha libre tournament, and a slicker gang, the Bad Girls, led by Kitty Kat, blackmails them into one last job that ends up in orbit. The plot is pure formula: framed, cornered, one more heist. You’ll see most of the turns coming. But the crew is still a blast to hang out with, Wolf and Diane’s will-they-won’t-they keeps simmering, and the stakes climb all the way into space without losing the playful mischief. It holds an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and an A CinemaScore. A 7.1 because it’s a breezy caper that earns its sequel. $29.08 says your kid starts calling the family car the getaway vehicle and you go along with it.

What works: The crew’s chemistry is still the main event, and Kitty Kat and the Bad Girls give the sequel fun new rivals.

What doesn’t: The plot follows the framed-then-blackmailed formula so closely that grown-ups will call most of the twists early.

Who it’s for: Families who loved the first one and kids who think a heist movie is better when it goes to space.
