Critics handed out gold stars. Audiences checked their phones. Somebody is wrong on every one of these, and I'm saying who.

Number one got a D+ from audiences. Critics called it brilliant. Critics win.

  1. 8Good Boy poster
    Good Boy (2025)5.9
Critics are right. The dog gimmick legit works.
90% on Rotten Tomatoes, a B CinemaScore, $6.6M domestic. Indy the dog out-acts half this list and never once asks for a bigger trailer.
  2. 7Together poster
    Together (2025)6.1
Side with critics. It's a date night dare.
89% on Rotten Tomatoes, then a C+ CinemaScore. Turns out audiences don't love watching Dave Franco and Alison Brie get clingy in the very literal, very gross way.
  3. 6Materialists poster
    Materialists (2025)5.2
Audiences win this one. It's colder than it thinks.
77% from critics, 6.2 on IMDb. It still made $107.9M worldwide on a reported $20M, so people showed up. They just left arguing in the parking lot.
  4. 5The Naked Gun poster
    The Naked Gun (2025)6.0
Critics are right. Deadpan Liam Neeson is a gift.
88% on Rotten Tomatoes and $102.1M worldwide on a reported $42M. Audiences gave it a 6.3 on IMDb, which is a weird way to say you laughed.
  5. 4Black Bag poster
    Black Bag (2025)6.7
Critics win by a mile. Best grown-up spy movie in years.
96% on Rotten Tomatoes, 85 on Metacritic, Guru's Take 8.1. Then just $21.5M domestic on a reported $50M to $60M budget. Cate Blanchett deserved crowds.
  6. 3Babygirl poster
    Babygirl (2024)4.5
Audiences are wrong. Nicole Kidman took the biggest swing here.
Metacritic 79, IMDb 5.7. Yet $64.7M worldwide on a reported $20M means plenty of people watched, then rated it like they were embarrassed to admit it.
  7. 2Presence poster
    Presence (2024)4.9
Audiences have a point. The camera beats the ghost.
88% on Rotten Tomatoes, C+ CinemaScore. Steven Soderbergh shot a whole haunting from the ghost's view for a reported $2M. Neat trick, thin scares.
  8. 1Die My Love poster
    Die My Love (2025)4.2
Critics are right. That D+ is a badge of honor.
A D+ CinemaScore against 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. Jennifer Lawrence gives Lynne Ramsay everything, Robert Pattinson mostly watches. Brutal to sit through. That's the point.
Change my mind. Critics or audiences: pick a side on all eight, and defend #1 if you dare.

$619 says the Die My Love defenders and the D+ crowd fill the comments before Black Bag gets a single vote.
