Six of eight are Hogwarts. Ranked by movie.guru score, the critics plus audiences blend. The data picked the order. I picked the fights.

Number one is the data's pick. Guru's Take disagrees, and so will you.

  1. 8Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone poster
Charming, stiff, and coasting almost entirely on pure wonder.
A reported $125M budget turned into $1.03 billion worldwide. Watson steals scenes correcting everyone's spells, but Guru's Take is a 7.4 because the movie mostly reads the book aloud.
  2. 7Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets poster
An A+ CinemaScore for the series' most skippable chapter.
Audiences gave it an A+, the only one on this list. Guru's Take is a 6.4. Kenneth Branagh is a delight, but the plot is year one with spiders.
  3. 6Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 poster
Watson's best Potter acting, in the one nobody rewatches.
Lowest Rotten Tomatoes here at 76%, and Guru's Take sits at 6.3. Watson carries the whole camping trip anyway, and it still pulled $1.06 billion worldwide.
  4. 5Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire poster
Best Yule Ball, worst hair, decent at everything else.
Critics and fans agreed for once: it beats 82% of movies with critics, 81% with audiences. The staircase entrance is the series' biggest glow up, and $901 million worldwide noticed.
  5. 4The Perks of Being a Wallflower poster
Her best performance outside Hogwarts. Yes, better than Little Women.
A reported $13M budget, $33.4 million worldwide, and it beats 92% of movies with audiences. The tunnel scene showed more range than any wand ever asked of her.
  6. 3Little Women poster
    Little Women (2019)8.9
Great movie. Watson plays the fourth most interesting sister.
Metacritic 91 and 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' favorite here. Greta Gerwig built it around Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh, and Meg mostly gets the leftovers.
  7. 2Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban poster
The best Potter movie, and it isn't close.
Alfonso Cuarón made the series grow up, and Guru's Take gives it a 9.0, the highest on this list. Also the lowest grossing Potter here at $811 million worldwide.
  8. 1Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 poster
Number one, even though Azkaban is the better movie.
Elite 9.3 movie.guru score, 1.07 million IMDb votes, $1.34 billion worldwide. The numbers crowned the finale. Guru's Take says 8.8, a notch below Azkaban's 9.0. Fight me?
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least rewatched. Wrong answers only.

$463.27 says you skip straight to the comments to defend Azkaban or Part 2, and nobody says a single word for Chamber.
