You already know the first rule. Here's the second: stop rewatching it and try these. Mostly Fincher, all gritty, every pick backed by real numbers.

Number one has the lowest score here, and it's the truest Fight Club twin.

  1. 8Reservoir Dogs poster
    Reservoir Dogs (1992)9.3
Reservoir Dogs is Fight Club with suits and worse communication.
Angry men in a warehouse, a crime story told out of order, trust falling apart fast. Made for a reported $1.2 to 3M, it now sits at an Elite 9.3.
  2. 7The Departed poster
    The Departed (2006)9.0
The Departed nails the double-life panic Fight Club runs on.
Two men living lies on opposite sides of the law, both slowly cracking. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, $292M worldwide, and Jack Nicholson treating every scene like his personal playground.
  3. 6No Country for Old Men poster
No Country is the bleakest movie here, and the best.
Same dread, same men who can't stop what they started. A 9.3 movie.guru score, Metacritic 92, and Javier Bardem does more with a coin than most villains do with an army.
  4. 5The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo poster
Dragon Tattoo is Fincher's coldest film, and that's a compliment.
Same director, another outsider wrecking the system from the inside. CinemaScore A, beats 90% of movies with audiences, and Rooney Mara quietly takes the movie from Daniel Craig.
  5. 4Zodiac poster
    Zodiac (2007)7.3
Zodiac is the Fincher movie your patience isn't ready for.
Obsession eats men alive, which is basically Fight Club's whole diet. A Critics' Pick at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, yet only $33M domestic. Audiences blinked first.
  6. 3Gone Girl poster
    Gone Girl (2014)8.0
Gone Girl is Fight Club for marriage, and it's just as mean.
Fincher swaps consumer culture for suburbia and lets the satire bite. Guru's Take 8.7, $370.9M worldwide, and Rosamund Pike is genuinely unsettling from her first scene.
  7. 2Seven poster
    Seven (1995)7.7
Seven is the darker older sibling: same director, same Pitt.
Fincher and Brad Pitt before Fight Club, rain soaked and relentless. IMDb 8.6 on over 2M votes, Guru's Take 9.0. Somehow the movie.guru score is just 7.7.
  8. 1The Game poster
    The Game (1997)6.8
The Game is Fight Club's real twin. Fight me.
A rich man's tidy life gets dismantled until he can't tell what's real. Lowest movie.guru score here at 6.8, but Guru's Take says 7.3. Michael Douglas unraveling is the point.
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least Fight Club. Wrong answers only.

$318.29 says you start The Game tonight and text a friend 'wait, is this real' before the hour mark.
