Everybody knows her as the Avenger with the best hair. These are the ones that got skipped, shrugged at, or filed under somebody else's name.

Number one is a movie you probably laughed at the trailer for.

  1. 8Black Widow poster
    Black Widow (2021)7.1
Better than its reputation, mostly thanks to Florence Pugh.
Audiences gave it an A− CinemaScore, then the internet treated it like homework. The finale is a mess, but the sister banter earns the rewatch.
  2. 7Chef poster
    Chef (2014)7.9
Small role, but it's Favreau's most lovable movie.
An $11M food truck movie that made $49.8M worldwide and a 7.9 movie.guru score. She's barely in it. The Cuban sandwiches are the actual lead.
  3. 6Match Point poster
    Match Point (2005)6.8
The best Woody Allen thriller, and she's the reason.
A $15M budget, $85.6M worldwide, 7.6 on IMDb. The middle drags like a rally nobody wants to finish, but the tension is real.
  4. 5The Prestige poster
    The Prestige (2006)7.4
Critics shortchanged it. That 77% is a clerical error.
IMDb has it at 8.5 from 1.6 million votes. Metacritic says 66. The Guru's Take says 8.9. Its one real flaw: she's underused as the assistant.
  5. 4Captain America: The Winter Soldier poster
Her best Natasha is hiding in somebody else's title.
An 8.7 movie.guru score and $714.4M worldwide, and she drives half the plot. Still filed as a Captain America movie. Technically right, spiritually wrong.
  6. 3Marriage Story poster
    Marriage Story (2019)9.4
Her best performance, and most people never pressed play.
A 9.4 movie.guru score and a 94 on Metacritic. Theatrical gross: $333,686 worldwide. It's a Netflix movie, sure. It also wrecks you, which scared people off.
  7. 2Lost in Translation poster
A $4M movie that quietly beats almost everything she's made.
Reported $4M budget, $118.7M worldwide, 9.2 movie.guru score. Yes, it's slow. The slow is the movie. Bill Murray staring at a hotel bar is the special effect.
  8. 1Transformers One poster
Her best blockbuster is a cartoon about robot toys.
8.5 movie.guru score, A CinemaScore, beats 93% of movies with audiences. Domestic gross: $59.1M against a reported $75M to $147M budget. Everyone skipped it. Everyone was wrong.
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least underrated. Wrong answers only for number one.

$43.17 says you defend the robot movie in the comments before you've even watched it.
