The 8 Best Marvel Studios Movies, Ranked

Ranked by movie.guru score, not by box office or fan wars. Your favorite might be missing. That's on the data, not me.

Number one is the one the crowd loves most and I'd rewatch least.

1. 8
   Captain America: Civil War (2016)8.6

An Avengers movie in disguise, and the airport fight proves it.

Cap and Tony finally pick sides, and the airport brawl is the best set piece the MCU ever built. The villain plan is forgettable. 147 minutes, CinemaScore A.
2. 7
   Thor: Ragnarok (2017)8.6

Jeff Goldblum in a robe is the MCU's best casting decision.

Taika Waititi turns an apocalypse plot into a buddy comedy, and Cate Blanchett plays the villain like a rock star. $855.3 million worldwide on a reported $180 million.
3. 6
   Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)8.8

Nobody knew these characters in 2014. Now everyone has a favorite.

James Gunn turned a raccoon, a tree and a cassette tape into $773.4 million worldwide. 8.0 on IMDb from 1.39 million votes. The soundtrack did the marketing.
4. 5
   The Avengers (2012)8.9

The first team-up is still the most fun one.

Iron Man, Cap, Thor and the Hulk in one movie, and nobody gets lost. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. The circling shot in New York still gives chills.
5. 4
   Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)9.0

Fan service so good it basically counts as a plot.

Tom Holland carries a movie built on surprises I won't spoil. Metacritic gave it a 71, opening crowds gave it an A+.
6. 3
   Iron Man (2008)9.0

The loosest superhero movie ever, and that's the secret.

Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges riff like nobody locked the script, and the suit effects from 2008 still hold up. CinemaScore A, 126 minutes.
7. 2
   Black Panther (2018)9.0

Best score in the MCU, and the talking drums prove it.

Chadwick Boseman anchors it with total calm, and Michael B. Jordan makes the villain hard to argue with. The CGI finale looks rushed, but critics rank it above 95% of notable movies.
8. 1
   Avengers: Endgame (2019)9.3

The score ranks it first. My Guru's Take ranks it last.

181 minutes, $2.94 billion worldwide, and audiences carried the movie.guru score to a 9.3. My Guru's Take is a 7.8: huge event, shaky story.

$412 says you scroll back up just to check where Infinity War landed.
