   Audiences rank it above 81% of notable movies, critics above 39%. That gap is 117 minutes of slow-motion shouting through a sepia filter.

   Iconic mask. Homework movie.

   8.1 on IMDb from 1.26 million fans, 62 from Metacritic. The mask conquered dorm walls and T-shirts. The movie stayed a lecture with explosions.

   860,871 IMDb fans rate it 7.6. The movie.guru score is a 5.9, dead average. Christian Bale is incredible. The rest is a very nice apartment.

   Audiences rank it above 95% of notable movies. Critics stop at 52%. That's an 8.5 on IMDb from 1.05 million people who mostly wanted a hug.

   Great performance. Mid movie. Fight me.

   $1.08 billion worldwide on a $55 to $70 million budget, genius business. Metacritic gave the movie a 59. Joaquin Phoenix carried a film that mostly just stares at you.

   The first rule of Fight Club: it's a 6.7.

   8.8 on IMDb from 2.67 million fans, the most votes on this list. Metacritic says 67. Great Fincher, great soap, and a lot of guys who took the satire as a lifestyle.
