This bottom eight starts at a 9.0, which is the most Anthony Hopkins sentence possible. Ranked by movie.guru score, least low to lowest.

The last one scored lowest, and I'm defending it anyway. Fight me.

  1. 8The Silence of the Lambs poster
    A 9.0 on a lowest list. That's the flex.
95% on Rotten Tomatoes and $273.1M worldwide on a reported $19M. If this is his floor, the man's floor is a penthouse.
  2. 7One Life poster
    One Life (2023)8.6
Still an 8.6 down here. Bring tissues.
Audiences rated it above 93% of movies, but it made only $5.7M domestic against $56.7M worldwide. American theaters skipped a great one.
  3. 6Fracture poster
    Fracture (2007)6.8
The most rewatchable movie here. Yes, over Lambs.
Hopkins versus a young Ryan Gosling, 7.2 on IMDb from 239,735 voters, A minus CinemaScore. A Sunday afternoon movie and proud of it.
  4. 5Red Dragon poster
    Red Dragon (2002)6.5
Best cast on the list, safest possible director.
Norton, Fiennes and Keitel, and Brett Ratner landed a 60 on Metacritic. $209.2M worldwide says nobody minded him playing it safe.
  5. 4Bram Stoker's Dracula poster
Underrated. Gary Oldman carried this one in a cape.
IMDb voters give it 7.4, way above its 5.9 here. Keanu's accent is a choice, but $215.9M worldwide on a reported $40M is not.
  6. 3Meet Joe Black poster
    Meet Joe Black (1998)5.9
Critics hated it. Audiences gave it an A minus. Audiences win.
48% on Rotten Tomatoes, A minus CinemaScore. A reported $90M budget for Brad Pitt staring politely, and people still made it $142.9M worldwide.
  7. 2Hannibal poster
    Hannibal (2001)4.4
The biggest hit of the eight is the weakest Lecter.
$351.7M worldwide, the most money here, and a C+ CinemaScore. Ridley Scott made a sequel audiences paid for and then frowned at.
  8. 1Locked poster
    Locked (2025)3.8
Lowest score, but it's better than Hannibal.
A 3.8 here, yet 63% on Rotten Tomatoes and my Guru's Take is 4.9, above Hannibal's 4.8. It grossed $4,647,059 worldwide on a reported $5M. Nobody showed up.
Change my mind. Rank these from the one you'd rewatch first to the one you'd never touch.

$347.26 says the first comment is someone furious that Silence of the Lambs is on a lowest list.
