Harrison Ford's 8 Best Movies, Ranked

Posted by movie guru

Ranked

Harrison Ford has played a smuggler, an archaeologist and a doctor on the run, all with the same perfect frown. Here's his top eight.

Number one wins a tie, and half of you will call it a robbery.

  1. 8Return of the Jedi poster
Ford's least essential Han Solo. The Ewoks get more to do.
Audiences rank it above 99% of notable movies. Critics stop at 62%. Han Solo spends a lot of its 131 minutes on Endor looking like he'd rather be back in a cantina.
  2. 7Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade poster
Ford's funniest movie, with Sean Connery as Indy's dad.
The movie.guru score is 8.5. My Guru's Take is a 9.2, the biggest jump on this list. $474.2 million worldwide on a reported $48 million budget.
  3. 6Blade Runner 2049 poster
The best-looking movie Ford has ever been in, by a mile.
Ryan Gosling leads, and Ford's older Rick Deckard brings the ache. A reported $150 million budget, only $287.3 million worldwide, and 164 minutes of gorgeous images.
  4. 5Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster
Harrison Ford walked back in and stole the whole sequel.
$2.07 billion worldwide and a 9.0 movie.guru score. My Guru's Take is a 7.5. Ford's grumpy, older Han Solo is the best thing in it, and he's barely trying.
  5. 4The Empire Strikes Back poster
Ford and Carrie Fisher bickering is the best romance in sci-fi.
Han Solo and Leia argue across a whole galaxy, and every insult is flirting. A 9.3 movie.guru score and 1.53 million IMDb votes.
  6. 3The Fugitive poster
    The Fugitive (1993)9.3
Dr. Richard Kimble is the smartest man Ford ever played.
He investigates his own case while the whole country hunts him. Metacritic gives it an 87, CinemaScore an A+, and its 130 minutes have no slow patch.
  7. 2Raiders of the Lost Ark poster
Perfect adventure movie. Losing a tie is its only flaw.
Same 9.6 movie.guru score as number one. Made for a reported $18 million, 115 minutes, and Indy gets dragged behind a truck like it's a Tuesday.
  8. 1Star Wars poster
    Star Wars (1977)9.6
Better than Raiders. Han Solo made Indiana Jones possible.
A reported $11 million budget, $775.4 million worldwide, and a 9.6 movie.guru score. Ford's cocky smuggler is the coolest guy in all 121 minutes, and he knows it.
Change my mind. Raiders or Star Wars at number one? Pick a side below.

$697 says you're about to argue for Raiders with your whole chest.
