Ranked by the movie.guru score, not by how many times Dom says family. The data had one job, and at the top it went gloriously rogue.

#1 has no Vin Diesel and the highest score on this list.

  1. 8Fast & Furious poster
    Fast & Furious (2009)4.6
The reboot critics hated and crowds quietly loved.
28% on Rotten Tomatoes, A− CinemaScore. Justin Lin hadn't cracked the formula yet, but $360.4M worldwide told the studio to keep the engine running.
  2. 7The Fast and the Furious poster
Smallest budget, most heart. Fight me.
A reported $38M budget turned into $213M worldwide. A 5.4 feels low for the movie that launched two decades of physics violations.
  3. 6Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw poster
A spinoff that's really an expensive roast battle.
Johnson and Statham trade insults on a reported $200M budget. $760.7M worldwide says people paid for the bickering. The Guru's Take of 5.6 says the plot was optional.
  4. 5The Fate of the Furious poster
Huge money, thin story, weirdly forgettable.
$1.24B worldwide on a reported $250 to 270M budget, yet critics parked it at 56 on Metacritic. Loud, rich, and gone from memory by the parking lot.
  5. 4Fast & Furious 6 poster
Fun, but audiences rate it a full notch too high.
Audiences beat 80% of movies here, critics only 50%. A 7.1 movie.guru score is generous for a sequel mostly reheating Fast Five. Guru's Take: 6.2.
  6. 3Fast Five poster
    Fast Five (2011)7.6
The best real Fast movie. The heist made it.
Justin Lin swapped street races for a heist and landed 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. $644.4M worldwide off a reported $125M. This is where the franchise found its gear.
  7. 2Furious 7 poster
    Furious 7 (2015)7.8
Biggest hit, highest franchise score, still not the best.
$1.52B worldwide and 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. James Wan went bigger on everything. The Guru's Take sits at 6.8, almost a full point under Fast Five.
  8. 1The Furious poster
    The Furious (2025)9.1
The top Fast & Furious movie has zero Vin Diesel.
Kenji Tanigaki's martial arts thriller scored 98% on Rotten Tomatoes on a reported $20M budget. Technically a different movie. The database does not care. Neither do I.
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least physics-defying. Wrong answers only.

$1,312 says someone in the comments insists The Furious counts as family because it has Furious in the title.
