Mark Strong makes every movie better. The data says some of them needed way more help than one great glare could give.

#1 is dead last on paper. Half of you will still defend it.

  1. 8RocknRolla poster
    RocknRolla (2008)6.1
Too fun to be on a worst list. Blame critics.
Audiences beat 68% of movies with it, critics only 39%. It made $5.7M domestic on a reported $18M budget, so the crowd was tiny but loud.
  2. 7Sherlock Holmes poster
    Sherlock Holmes (2009)6.0
A $524M worldwide hit sitting this low is legit hilarious.
Movie.guru score 6.0, Guru's Take 6.6, and 713,194 IMDb votes. Everybody remembers the slow-motion fight planning. Nobody remembers the plot. That's the gap.
  3. 6Body of Lies poster
    Body of Lies (2008)4.8
DiCaprio and Crowe in a spy movie, and it's homework.
Ridley Scott, a reported $67.5M to $70M budget, a B-minus CinemaScore and a 4.8 here. Strong walks off with every scene he's in, and that's the problem.
  4. 5John Carter poster
    John Carter (2012)4.6
Underrated, and the Guru's Take says so out loud.
A reported $306.6M budget against $73.1M domestic made it a punchline. Score 4.6, but a B+ CinemaScore says the people who showed up had a good time.
  5. 4Kingsman: The Golden Circle poster
The sequel that forgot what made the first one fun.
Guru's Take matches the score at 4.6. Metacritic 44, $410.9M worldwide. Julianne Moore's retro diner lair is the best idea in it. Strong deserved more pages.
  6. 3Robin Hood poster
    Robin Hood (2010)4.0
Robin Hood with no fun. Just mud and tax policy.
A reported $155M to $237M budget for a prequel to the part you actually wanted. Rotten Tomatoes 43%, movie.guru 4.0. Strong's villain is the only one enjoying himself.
  7. 2Shadow Force poster
    Shadow Force (2025)3.1
The one on this list you didn't know existed.
$3,933,483 domestic on a reported $40M budget and only 6,114 IMDb votes. Critics beat just 11% of movies with it. Kerry Washington and Omar Sy deserved better.
  8. 1Green Lantern poster
    Green Lantern (2011)2.4
Dead last, and Strong was the only thing working.
2.4 on movie.guru, 25% on Rotten Tomatoes, a reported $200M budget. Strong plays it like Shakespeare. Everything around him glows green and says nothing.
Change my mind. Rank these from most to least worth rewatching for Mark Strong alone.

$217.83 says someone in the comments calls John Carter a masterpiece before anyone even mentions Green Lantern.
